Her
It's an innuendo. Not sexual. No. Cosmos. Difficult to grasp? Her cosmic beauty was too. I met her in the most cliched way of meetings but where it took me in my life beyond that is not cliched. It is insatiable and extravagant. A quest of knowing this queen of sensual desires.
A dinner. The setting was too bright, I remember. White tiles reflecting the mean glow of the ceiling fixed LEDs.
Glass tables of show off sizes arranged in two parallel lines across the room. A huge room at that.
I swayed
and I stood, in front of an abstract sequence of the table. The moment I laid eyes on her, I swayed again. She sat there, wearing an Auburn black dress. Her hair to her sides. The scene was out of a fantasy. She was in conversation with a mutual friend sitting next to her and he seemed to have had some wit for she was laughing. I was jealous of this friend who was making this beautiful woman laugh. The woman, I had started dreaming about in mere minutes and in fully awakened consciousness. She was truly mesmerising.
And I got over my envy and focused on her face. It was just enough round to give her features you may relate to a strong woman. And she looked like one too, all in all.
Her laughter, yes. Her white teeth out on display, glowing with the aura the room already held. Her cheeks twitching into soft dimples and her eyes squinched shut. Not a vigorous squinch but rather a soft touch of it. It looked so beautiful, the gorgeous formation of her smile, the dimple, the closed eyes.
My friend introduced her to me. I was told her name meant Restoring Knowledge.
She seemed like a woman who could put you in place. Who would tell you what you need to be told. I could see a leader for some reason. I could see her voicing her concerns. I could see her fighting for what's right. And all this I saw in a matter of seconds. She was breathtaking.
As I sat down, I followed her gaze. She was looking at me, trying to analyse my code. I've been told everybody looks for the bug. I had so many. But slowly her eyes settled after the internal battle of "what is this man?"
I felt she was a master of deception. Not that I had known her long enough to have experienced something of that sort. Just an intuition. I would later find out that she held a controller, had moved the controller way too often. But she was a simple soul, I could tell. And even before I could get to her bossom and the other assets of this enterprise, I was floored.
I was in love.
When she spoke, I kept staring at her lips. Pink enough to turn your head but not enough to be Numb. Little did I know I would kiss her later.
I must've looked like a creep. She said and she said and I did nothing.
Finally, she snapped her fingers and I smiled and then she smiled.
Dinner proceeded.
Between wine classes clinging and the slight touch of cutlery on the plate, I heard her laughter. They were no less than a White Rabbits.
We made little conversation. But I wasn't concerned. Something in me sang a song. I am not a singer, don't be mistaken, but my mind is cocky. Or else it wouldn't have created a Utopia around this pillar of 'Knowledge'. It wouldn't have shown a wonderland with a river flowing from nowhere to somewhere. Lush greenery around. Birds chirping and a psuedo manifestation of an adolescent boy's fantastical love story. And at the root of all this, the protagonist of this story. Don't get lost in a cloud of misunderstanding. It's not me. It was her. It was always her.
I excused myself at the end. I had a habit of calling a fellow from the Underworld. Death. I said hello as I sparked my cigarette. A few puffs later, my party with the reaper was crashed by a lady in black Auburn dress. No, The lady in the black Auburn dress. We spoke. And for the first time it was not mouths merely moving and throats merely making sounds. This came from the brain but I knew, guided by the heart.
I could pour my heart out to her and she would listen, I could feel it. But I wasn't in a hurry.
She bummed my smoke.
I noticed her.
She gently swayed her legs at times. Very little to be noticed. But I noticed them. Why wouldn't I?
She stooped her back just a tiny bit, deepening a bit of her cleavage, not that I was noticing. But if I would've, I would've found a boldness even in her sex. She had command.
We spoke some more.
At the end, I walked her towards where the party of our friends still persisted.
We all laughed and made aimless conversation but the fact of her being part of it made it less deafening.
I hugged her last. It meant something.
They all left. I return to my car to find a ring on the bonet. A sign. This gem, of literal consequence, belonged to the beautiful young woman whom I had just fallen in love with.
I picked it up and I drove. I drove knowing my fantasy drowning in Auburn black, was not yet over.
